Personal snapshots with 85mm 1.4
I know that this is supposed to be a “professional” blog, but I thought I’d add a few personal images from my weekend visiting my daughter and her family down in South Carolina. All this shots were with the 85mm 1.4, shot wide open at 1.4. This will give you an idea of how the focus effect looks at different distances, from long shots to close-ups. It’s really a pretty cool lens.
Even at pretty far distances, this lens has lets the focus fall off quick enough to let the viewer's eyes focus on the subject and ignore the background just a little. And when the photographer moves in close, the focus goes all together.
